Getting messy with our learning

We have been exploring our five senses in science. Students had to close their eyes and use their sense of hearing, smell and touch to figure out what I was squirting on the tables. We discussed the different properties of the shaving cream and played around in it to really understand the sense of touch/feel. We may have gotten real messy but had a blast. I was impressed with the observations they recorded in their science journals after. Please send in another change of clothes for activities like this. I have another messy activity that involves cinnamon and apple sauce next so extra clothes will be needed, I'm sure!

Smart sweeties

Here are our Valentines day center activities. We created mail boxes, passed out and sorted our valentines, and did valentines themed math and literacy centers. Some of us may have possibly had a little too much candy and too much fun for one day!

The 100th day of school

From dressing like they were 100 years old, to imaging and writing about what it would be like, to bringing in 100 items, to counting and doing math problems all the way to 100...they certainly showed how smart they have become in 100 hundred days of kindergarten. It was a day of fun and learning. I'm so proud of how far they have all come!
